Biography

Dr. Heidi M. Baumann is an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business at Illinois State University. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Purdue University. Dr. Baumann's research focuses on two primary areas: (1) employees' work-life interface and (2) performance management and employee development. She has published her research in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, and the Journal of Management in addition to other quality outlets. She serves on the editorial review board for the Journal of Management and the Journal of Vocational Behavior and as an ad hoc reviewer for multiple other journals.

Dr. Baumann's teaching focuses on topics such as human resource management, performance management, leadership, and managing the work-life interface, and she has experience teaching in undergraduate, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. She is also actively engaged in delivering executive and professional development programs in the community. Prior to entering academia, Dr. Baumann worked for two Fortune 500 companies, Caterpillar Inc. and State Farm Insurance.
